Hazeldean Gardens is not part of a large chain. It is a locally-owned family business developed and operated by Wit Lewandowski, his wife Terry, his cousin Vicki Jackson and her husband Murray, and the Jacksons’ son Allan. Over the past 18 years they have successfully built and operated two other retirement residences – Rideau Gardens in Ottawa, and Quinte Gardens in Belleville, Ontario.
WIT LEWANDOWSKI, President of Hazeldean Gardens, is a registered pharmacist who owed and operated Rideau Pharmacy in Ottawa for over 25 years. In 2004 he sold the pharmacy to concentrate on seniors’ housing, but in order to stay current with developments in the pharmaceutical field, particularly in the area of seniors’ care Mr. Lewandowski continues to work as a pharmacist on a part-time basis. He has recently been certified as a Geriatric Pharmacist.
MURRAY JACKSON, President of Eastridge Management Services, managed both Rideeau Gardens and Hazeldean Gardens in partnership with Mr. Lewandowski. Prior to becoming involved in seniors’ housing, Mr. Jackson operated a management consulting business, and he has held senior executive positions in several major Canadian private and public sector corporations.
ALLAN JACKSON is President of Capital Commercial Investment, a commercial real estate and advisory firm. As a partner in Hazeldean Gardens, Mr. Jackson brings his experience as a real estate professional specializing in seniors’ housing while acting on behalf of developers, buyers, and sellers.
TERRY LEWANDOWSKI is also a registered pharmacist, having spent most of her career working in a hospital setting. She and VICKI JACKSON oversee many of the design features of the project, along with providing the personal decorating touches to ensure Hazeldean Gardens feels like an elegant, yet warm and inviting home.
